Au Revoir Baker Street…
Well, another week has passed and already we’re starting to feel part of the furniture! That’s not to say we’ve been labelled and packed away ahead of the impending move to our temporary Soho offices, but rather that this week we’ve been put on our accounts!
So aside from all being very excited and giggling like schoolgirls (Chris and Louis included), we’ve also been getting to grips with proper grown up job stuff like client meetings, contact reports, competitor reviews and research. Thankfully, everyone has been incredibly helpful in easing us into agency life.
On top of all of these things that make us sound professional, we also spent one happy lunchtime watching the latest ads and eating as many sandwiches as we physically could. Once we’d dried our tears from the new John Lewis ad, we were even able to offer wise and well-considered commentary on Weetos’ new direction, worrying that their latest offering may ‘make children frightened of facial hair’.
In a busy week we managed to fit in a session on time management – which, ironically, we didn’t have time to fit into our previous training – and an all company meeting in which we got our first glimpse of the ‘Lion of Fortune’. The Lion of Fortune is a spinning prize wheel that rewards those who go above and beyond the day job with an array of special prizes – from Selfridges vouchers and spa days to a kindle and Nigel Jones’ iPod. Sadly, the Lion of Fortune won’t be coming with us to the new office, but we’re hoping to give the wheel, and the building, a proper send off next week. More on that next time…
